International law firm Trowers & Hamlins announces its new partnership with leading legal AI platform, Legora. Beginning in September, the firm has already started to introduce Legora's tools into its legal departments.

Legora is a provider of AI-driven legal technology solutions. Its GenAI platform empowers law firms to work more efficiently by streamlining routine tasks, improving accuracy in large-scale document analysis, and fostering collaborative workflows that drive innovation. The partnership is the result of the firm's thorough evaluation of Legora’s capabilities across various departments, use cases, and legal workflows.

Led by the firm's Innovation and Legal Technology team in collaboration with the AI Governance group, a pilot programme began by inviting lawyers to share their aspirations and concerns around AI, as well as the types of tasks they hoped it could support. These insights shaped a series of challenges designed to test Legora’s performance against real-world expectations. The team also created a safe and supportive environment for lawyers to explore the tool, share experiences, and learn from one another.

Feedback from those involved in the pilot was carefully analysed to assess both the benefits and potential risks of using AI in legal practice, resulting in a future roll out across the firm and greater clarity for clients about how it is used.

Rob Mallett, Innovation and Legal Technology Operations Manager at Trowers & Hamlins, commented:

“Legora was a standout choice, consistently impressing us across the board. It's  quality, ease of use and strong adoption confirmed that Legora is the right tool for us as we take the next step on our AI journey. During the pilot phase, we validated a large number of highly valuable and practical use cases spanning a wide range of our practice areas. From the outset, the Legora team has been a pleasure to work with – demonstrating great flexibility and a genuine commitment to helping us achieve our goals, from planning our pilots late last year through to reaching the point of rollout. We look forward to building on this strong foundation as part of our ongoing commitment to using technology in delivering effective client solutions that meet their needs."

Victoria Robertson, a commercial and data law specialist and partner in the Trowers & Hamlins commercial team, and the firm's partner innovation champion added:

“Whilst we are embracing technology to enhance the work we do for our clients, this partnership does not diminish the vital role that lawyers play in steering every legal project. Trowers & Hamlins’ approach ensures that AI-generated results are carefully reviewed, refined, and contextualised by skilled practitioners. Through human oversight, the firm continually upholds the professional standards that clients rely upon. To support this, we've implemented a robust AI governance framework, overseen by our AI Governance Group, to ensure that our adoption of AI is safe, responsible, and aligned with our professional standards”

“We are delighted to partner with Trowers & Hamlins, a firm that has shown real commitment to exploring how AI can enhance legal practice. Their thorough pilot programme gave us invaluable insights into how Legora can support lawyers in their daily work, while also highlighting the importance of responsible innovation. By embracing this journey, Trowers & Hamlins are setting an important example for how technology can be integrated thoughtfully and effectively into the legal sector,” said CEO and co-founder of Legora, Max Junestrand.
