Karmeni is an Associate in Trowers & Hamlins' Tax department.
She joined the firm in 2017 with previous experience in the taxation issues affecting residential property investors. She advises a range of clients from private individuals to corporations (including pension funds, local authorities and student housing providers) on all real estate (commercial and residential) and corporate taxation issues. Her particular experience includes providing structuring advice for property acquisitions, such as recommending appropriate holding company structures or group reorganisations, so as to minimise direct taxes, SDLT and VAT costs. She also often provides stand-alone advice on the direct tax issues affecting real estate.
Karmeni works closely with the Private Wealth team providing real estate tax advice for family asset restructuring as well as the Real Estate team on their projects. However, outside of real estate transactions, she also advises on the tax implications of corporate acquisitions and disposals as well as tax issues on banking facilities.
