The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has published guidance on new payslip rules which are coming in under the Employment Rights Act 1996 (Itemised Pay Statement) (Amendment) (No.2) Order 2018 as of 6 April.
This provides all workers with a right to an itemised payslip and to enforce this right at an employment tribunal.
The guidance highlights who qualifies for "worker" status and sets out that additional information that must be included in payslips for workers whose pay varies depending on the number of hours they have worked. It also provides case studies and information on the format of payslips.
