We have one of the largest dedicated construction teams in the UK, experienced in advising upon and helping to deliver complex and often ground-breaking projects.
We provide commercially minded legal advice to a diverse range of clients including private and public developers, central and local government, landowners, funders and investors, contractors and consultants on all aspects of construction law. Our experience of acting for both private and public sector clients allows us to approach problems from a unique perspective and add real value to the services we provide. We understand and appreciate the market conditions our clients are dealing with and we are often called upon to participate in governmental and industry body working groups and help shape industry best practice. The market is constantly moving and evolving and we help our clients to adapt with it. Our ability to offer clients insight and perspective on developments in the markets in which they operate is highly valued by our clients and we are often at the forefront of initiatives and developments in the sector helping to shape things in the right way for our clients.
We are experts in preparing bespoke agreements to best suit our clients' needs as well as all major industry standard forms, including JCT, NEC, FIDIC, CIC, RIBA and ACA Alliancing Contracts. We offer a cradle to grave service advising on procurement structures, early contractor involvement, building contracts, consultant appointments, development agreements, all development aspects of agreements for lease, JV agreements, hotel operator agreements, agreements for student accommodation and education facilities, funding agreements and arrangements for the design, manufacture and supply of modern methods of construction as well as forms of security such as bonds and parent company guarantees, asset protection agreements, collateral warranties and third party rights.
Our team includes experts who specialise in regeneration, residential and commercial developments, frameworks, partnering and alliancing, procurement, energy and sustainability, institutional investment, modern methods of construction, education, asset management and dispute avoidance and resolution. We support our clients at each stage of their projects, providing true whole life support - whether advising on procurement strategy, dealing with disputes during construction or advising on the management of assets.
Sometimes things don’t go according to plan. As well as advising clients on how to avoid disputes, we also represent clients in mediations, adjudications and in the courts with experience and determination. We understand the range of challenges the construction industry faces – from planning problems to site issues, complications over poor workmanship and broken supply chains. Whatever the issue, we tackle it with practical, workable ideas, solutions and training backed by sound legal and industry experience.
