Trowers & Hamlins and Exeter City Community Trust (ECCT) are pleased announce the renewal of their Community Partnership for a further year. The alliance seeks to drive social change and enhance the well-being of individuals in Exeter and beyond.
In 2023, Trowers & Hamlins joined forces with ECCT, a leading charitable organisation in the South West. Each year, ECCT's wellbeing, inclusion, and sports participation teams and programmes reach more than 50,000 members of the South West community with activities including:
- delivering food, prescriptions, and other essential supplies;
- calls to the socially isolated by telephone befrienders;
- over 95 beds for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in their supported housing scheme.
- more than 2,000 young people participating in holiday activity and food programmes;
- over 200 girls and women engaged weekly as part of their female football pathway;
- and, more than 15 parasports squads currently playing blind, deaf, amputee, down syndrome, and pan disability football.
Trowers employees have actively engaged in a diverse range of initiatives led by ECCT. These include participating in initiatives such as the Sporting Memories and Social Cafés for the isolated and lonely; and have contributed to the Holiday Activity Food Programme by delivering Christmas hampers to those in need.
These collaborative endeavours exemplify the commitment of Trowers and ECCT to making a meaningful difference in the community.
Stuart Mathews at Trowers & Hamlins said:
"We're excited to be partnering with ECCT for another year. Social impact is high on the agenda at Trowers and an integral part of our business growth strategy. We are all encouraged to utilise 25 business hours a year supporting our communities and this partnership with ECCT allows the Trowers team to work hand-in-hand with the charity, volunteering on their projects across the city."
ECCT is Exeter's leading health and wellbeing charity working in partnership with Exeter City Football Club. They deliver inspiring physical activity, education, health and wellbeing programmes, and courses for the community. They spend over 45,000 hours out in the community every year striving to improve life chances for all, often in the most deprived areas of Greater Exeter.
Jamie Vittles, CEO at Exeter City Community Trust, highlights the significant impact of the partnership between Trowers and ECCT:
"We've been delighted to work with Trowers & Hamlins as a community partner. Community partnerships are invaluable to us. They enhance the impact and reach of our work, while fostering stronger bonds within the community. By collaborating, we can share resources, pool expertise, and tackle issues more effectively.
Through Trowers involvement we've been able to strengthen our staff bank, delivering to underrepresented groups within Exeter's community. Their team's energy, enthusiasm, and dedication have helped us bring about meaningful change, whether it's through supporting our Health & Wellbeing programmes, aiding our running events, or co-curating set-piece events."
Looking ahead at this renewed partnership, Trowers will continue to offer volunteers to the regular projects run by ECCT, whilst also codeveloping and delivering on new schemes that provide positive benefits for Exeter's communities and environment.
