On 4 February 2025, we covered the practice of dismissal and re-engagement, also known as "fire and rehire", including its impact on making pension changes. 

The government has committed to restricting employers' abilities to dismiss and re-engage staff through the statutory Code of Practice on Dismissal and Re-Engagement, with further changes under the Employment Rights Bill expected to come into force as early as next year.
