International law firm Trowers & Hamlins has advised Mark Ford, Finbarr O'Connell and Henry Shinners of Smith & Williamson as administrators and LPA receivers, on the sale of the Days Hotel, Waterloo, London to Palm Holdings.
Trowers assisted with all aspects of the deal, including the sale of the assets and business and the transfer of the freehold interest in the Hotel. The 162 bedroom hotel is located in Waterloo, London and receivers and administrators were appointed in March 2019. The buyer, Palm Holdings, will operate the hotel under its subsidiary, Waterloo Hub Hotel Ltd and will continue to trade under the "Days Hotel" brand, under a temporary operating agreement.
Emma Barnfield, property litigation partner who led the Trowers team, commented:
"Following significant interest in the hotel, it was a pleasure to work alongside Smith & Williamson to complete the sale of the Days Hotel. Co-ordinating the sale of the business and property of the hotel required the input of our corporate, property, insolvency and litigation teams and I am delighted that this resulted in the successful sale to Palm Holdings."
Mark Ford, Partner in Smith & Williamson's Restructuring and Recovery Services team said:
“I was pleased to complete the sale of the Days Hotel Waterloo to Palm Holdings following a successful marketing campaign that attracted offers from all over the world. This sale means we have protected many jobs, avoided disruption for the hotel’s customers and represents a good outcome for all stakeholders.”
