International law firm Trowers and Hamlins has advised on the construction and development of 153 new build properties and a new secondary school, in one of the most high profile educational estate transactions of 2019.
The £80m project will include the building of a new Broxbourne School in order to unlock school playing fields for the residential development.
Trowers & Hamlins' role involved negotiating the deal between the school, educational land broker Cornerstone, the Department for Education, the contractor, and client Chase New Homes.
The firm advised on procurement, construction agreements, a project development agreement, and all security documentation. The Trowers team was led by Assad Maqbool, with support from Rebecca Wardle, Christine Whittaker, Rebecca Rees, Chris Hourihan, and Eddie O'Hanrahan.
Assad said:
"It's great to be a part of such an important scheme that will facilitate the building of a new school and provide housing highly sought-after in the locality, and a brilliant example of how Trowers works across teams and sectors to provide the desired result for our clients."
