International law firm Trowers & Hamlins advised on a further phase of the financing behind the high end re-development of the renowned Balfron Tower in Poplar.
This unique grade II-listed structure, built in the 1960s in the brutalist style and designed by celebrated British-Hungarian architect, Ernö Goldfinger, is being entirely refurbished to create 146 residential units with unique views from the Thames Estuary to Hampstead Heath.
The design-lead refurbishment is being undertaken by a joint venture between Londonewcastle, Telford Homes and Poplar HARCA Housing, forming part of the wider £300 million+ Chrisp Street Market regeneration plan.
Trowers & Hamlins has advised on all finance aspects of the project since 2017. Eddie O'Hanrahan, who led the team with assistance from Jon Grosvenor, Nick Blair and Josh Green, commented:
"We are delighted to be supporting Londonewcastle, Telford Homes and Poplar HARCA Housing on the ongoing rebirth of this most iconic building."
