How can we help you?

Trowers & Hamlins has advised Grosvenor Hart Homes on its registration as a provider of social housing. The social enterprise is part of Grosvenor, the international organisation whose activities span urban property, food and agtech, rural estate management and support for philanthropic initiatives.

Since being formally launched by the Duke of Westminster in September 2023, Grosvenor Hart Homes has completed the refurbishment of 29 homes and a dedicated community facility in Chester city centre. It has begun supporting vulnerable children, young people and their families, who can now benefit from a high-quality home and tailored support services as part of a pioneering public / private partnership with Cheshire West and Chester Council.

RP registration is a key milestone in Grosvenor Hart Homes’s mission to improve outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and their families by simultaneously addressing three major foundational blocks that are essential to overcome disadvantage and build better outcomes in life:

  • the provision of high-quality affordable and secure homes paired with support services tailored around individual needs and addressing:
    • employment and routes into employment
    • mental health and wellbeing.

Sara Bailey, Senior Partner at Trowers & Hamlins commented:

"We are proud to have worked with Grosvenor Hart Homes to achieve its successful registration as a provider of social housing. Their wholistic approach to housing, employment and mental health and wellbeing will make a real difference in the communities they work with. The partnership with Cheshire West and Chester Council and other stakeholders shows the full breadth of what can be achieved with public / private partnerships and the leading role for-profit RPs can play in both delivering additional affordable housing and support services."

Commenting on the achievement of RP registration, Helen Keenan CEO of Grosvenor Hart Homes said:

"Achieving RP status is an important milestone for the organisation and the culmination of the team’s hard work over recent months. As we continue to pilot and iterate our approach, I am especially proud of the early feedback we are receiving from our tenants and the emerging benefits our unique model is starting to deliver.

"It is this evidence, together with our newly acquired registered provider status that will enable us to refine and scale our model and deliver on our plan to make significant investments over the next 10 years to provide more than 750 homes and support services in the communities we are part of and know best: Chester, the north-west of England, and central London."
