2024 is, to say the least, shaping up to be a significant year for public procurement! Since our last Procurement Update Webinar, the Procurement Bill has become the Procurement Act 2023 and we have seen drafts of the accompanying regulations. Combined with new thresholds, a slew of PPNs and some interesting court judgments, there is a lot for procurement practitioners to keep an eye on.
In the meantime, public sector finances continue to be squeezed and the impending General Election adds further uncertainty when planning long-term procurement pipelines.
In this context our February 2024 Procurement Update covered:
- The Procurement Act – what we know now, and what we can do to get ready;
- Key themes arising from recent case law decisions; and
- A run-down of PPNs issued over the last six months
