International law firm Trowers & Hamlins has advised Denis Brinicombe Group Limited on the purchase of the entire issued share capital of Rumbol Products Limited, a family manufacturing business based in Clydebank, Scotland who specialise in the production of single entity, sustained release trace element and vitamin ruminant boluses.

Denis Brinicombe Group Limited, based in Crediton, Devon, are market leaders in providing innovative animal health and nutrition solutions and continues its dynamic offering to farmers, manufacturers, and the merchant trade across the globe.

Rumbol Products Limited has a successful track record stretching back over 30 years and has sold almost 35 million boluses globally.

While Denis Brinicombe Group Limited is now the parent company, Rumbol Products Limited will continue to operate as a standalone subsidiary to the group and production will continue at Rumbol Products Limited's current Clydebank factory.

Keith Greig, managing director of the Denis Brinicombe Group, said:

“It was a pleasure working with Stuart and his wider team at Trowers who were both professional and efficient in their work and their advice and guidance throughout the process was invaluable.

From the start it was clear that Rumbol was the best bolus manufacturer in the business, with its director, Dr Stuart Ritchie continuing the legacy of his father Norman Ritchie, in advocating the firm’s strong values of quality and innovation – which resonate with our own.

To ensure a consistent service, supply and quality of our products, we aim for ‘ownership’, where at all possible, of our supply chains, so it made sense to acquire Rumbol when the opportunity arose.”

Nothing will change at a commercial level, meaning our customers will continue to receive the same top quality products, service and support."

Corporate Partner, Stuart Mathews, led the Trowers team, comprising real estate and commercial lawyers and working with law firm Lindsays, based in Glasgow. Stuart commented:

"It was a pleasure to work once again with Keith and the team on this latest acquisition which underlines in the continuing and sustained growth of Denis Brinicombe Group Limited.  We are delighted to see Denis Brinicombe Group expand its manufacturing capability with Rumbol Products as part of their group."

The deal completed with support from Francis Clark LLP.
