How can we help you?

Trowers & Hamlins has advised Birmingham City Council on a major regeneration scheme. The project will deliver around 3,500 new homes to the Druids Heath area of the city and the firm has been a key supporter as the Council reached the significant milestone of submitting its planning application.

The regeneration scheme will develop approximately 1,785 affordable homes, representing 51% of homes on the development. 400 homes will be developed for social rent, with the remaining affordable homes being delivered through a partnership with a developer partner and housing provider.

Green spaces, new infrastructure and transport links, and a refresh of commercial and community spaces are also included in the plans.

Work to appoint the developer partner is well underway, and it is anticipated that the partnership agreement will be signed in early 2027.

Trowers' ongoing advice includes support on planning, procurement of the developer partner, land assembly and CPO, environmental, development and construction aspects of the project.

The Trowers team is led by Partner Chris Plumley with support from Partners Rory Stracey (Planning), Katie Saunders (Construction), Rebecca Rees (Real Estate), Amanda Stubbs (Planning and Environmental), Andrew Waite (Construction) and Senior Associates Vicki Palmer, Karen Wells and Rita Bange (Real Estate).

Chris commented:

"This is a significant milestone for the regeneration of Druids Heath, and we are proud to play a key role in supporting Birmingham City Council in bringing forward these ambitious plans. We are passionate about the regeneration of our towns and cities and this scheme will deliver much-needed affordable housing, improved infrastructure, and vibrant community spaces, bringing lasting benefits for residents."
