Rita Bange


Rita is a Senior Associate in our Real Estate team in our Birmingham office.

Rita is a highly regarded specialist in local government governance and regeneration, with extensive experience working in-house at Staffordshire County Council, Westminster City Council, and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Her deep understanding of local government challenges enables her to offer practical, solutions-focused advice, backed by a strong track record of successful delivery. Rita previously served as the national lead for housing and regeneration at Lawyers in Local Government (LLG) and was shortlisted for In-House Solicitor of the Year at the Law Society Awards 2021. She is also a member of the Law Society’s Property Section Committee.

Rita brings extensive knowledge and expertise in large-scale development and regeneration projects within the local government sector. She has significant experience handling transactions, including acquisitions and disposals for both investment and development purposes. Her skills encompass developing and implementing site assembly strategies, providing and executing CPO advice, managing rights to light issues, and overseeing regeneration initiatives, as well as general commercial property transactions.

In 2020, Rita earned a commendation for completing the Local Government Diploma. She has authored numerous articles for publications such as Lexis Nexis, the Law Society, The Association of Chief Estates Surveyors & Property Managers in the Public Sector, and localgovernmentlawyer.com. Rita has also delivered various client training sessions and has spoken at several industry conferences.
