How can we help you?

For the construction industry, it's hard to imagine life before the Building Safety Act 2022. The last 3 years have seen a tsunami of new legislation which has been unprecedented in scope, scale and speed of implementation.

More than 15 months have now passed since the changes made to the Building Regulations 2010 came into force, which included the creation of new statutory dutyholder roles and competency requirements that affect most building and design work in England. The new building control approval (Gateway) regime for higher-risk buildings has been in place since April 2024. Perhaps unsurprisingly, many clients, contractors and designers in the industry are still struggling to understand the changes and how their building projects are affected.

By popular demand, our first Construction Law Fundamentals breakfast briefing of 2025 is a review of the building safety legislation as it affects design and construction works. We will also discuss some of the key challenges in navigating the new regime (including the delays in obtaining Gateway approvals) and share best practice on how to meet these new legal requirements.
