International law firm Trowers & Hamlins has won two major awards at the People in Law Awards 2023.
The evening acknowledged the best HR-led initiatives across the UK legal sector.
Trowers won awards for the Best Health & Wellbeing Initiative (for firms of over 750 employees) for our partner wellbeing programme and for the Best Internal Engagement Campaign for our culture and values project.
The judges considered that the firm's partner wellbeing programme 'was a very important initiative focusing on partner health and wellbeing, which recognised the particular challenges that partners face and the need to start with the leadership of the firm. It highlights that if you get improved health and wellbeing right for your partners, that this will cascade down throughout the rest of the firm too.'
The judges were also impressed by the innovative way in which Trowers surveyed their staff in an engaging and far-reaching manner. They stated that 'they took the time to understand what people felt was important, they listened and they acted on it. Particularly impressive was the combination of their use of technology, how they achieved an enviable level of engagement across the firm, and they're clearly embedding their values in the performance criteria of their partners.'
Emily Green was also Highly Commended in the Rising Star category and Sara Bailey was shortlisted in the Best People Leader category.
Adrian Carter, Managing Partner, commented:
"We're so pleased that the firm has been recognised for our culture and wellbeing initiatives. How we look after our people is very important to us and it's great that the work of our outstanding HR team has been recognised in these prestigious national awards."
