Tom Calnan
Tom is a Partner in Trowers & Hamlins' Real Estate department.
Tom Calnan focuses his practice on commercial real estate transactions and has a wealth of experience in the UK market including investment acquisitions and disposals, mixed-use development, life sciences projects, hotel and leisure deals and structured real estate transactions, with a particular focus on the private equity sector. Tom also handles the real estate aspects of property finance and corporate finance transactions. He has a great deal of experience acting for Middle Eastern clients on cross-border multi-disciplinary deals involving Middle Eastern entities seeking to invest in the United Kingdom and Europe.
Tom's clients include the Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine, CBRE Investment Management and Oryx Real Estate Partners.

Acting as UK counsel for Lee Law Firm HK on behalf of Flow Capital on the £108 million purchase of Vauxhall Square in Nine Elms, London from R&F Properties; and advising the Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine in purchasing the company's first UK real estate asset, a 5.9 acre life sciences property in Oxford and subsequently advising on the expansion of their planned Oxford campus via the acquisition of the neighbouring Plot 18 property in the Oxford Science Park. Tom and the firm continue to provide legal advice on all aspects of this ongoing Project.
