International law firm, Trowers & Hamlins, is further strengthening its real estate presence in the Middle East with the relocation of Partner Eileen Duncan to the UAE, where she has taken up the position of Head of Real Estate, Middle East. Previously based in London, she will be located in Dubai and work across the firm's four offices across the region.
In her new role Eileen will lead the firm's Middle East real estate strategy, working closely with the growing specialist team across the Gulf and collaborating with colleagues in other departments to deliver a fully integrated client service. Eileen will also be keeping close ties with her UK colleagues, to help clients realise real estate investment opportunities from the Middle East to the UK and vice versa.
She brings to her new role considerable experience in the real estate sector, having been a lawyer for 25 years, joining Trowers in 2001, and becoming a partner in 2007.
With offices in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai and Oman, Trowers boasts around twenty partners across the Middle East and a deep-rooted presence, having worked in the region for over 60 years. This full-service international team is complimented by the firm's South East Asian hub in Malaysia and soon-to-open Singapore office, as well as specialist expertise from the Korea and India desks.
Commenting on her move, Eileen said:
"I am delighted to be taking up this position and working even more closely with my fantastic colleagues in the Middle East. The firm has a proud history in the region and Trowers is rightly regarded locally and internationally as a key legal player in the market.
"I am also thrilled to be moving to Dubai at such an exciting time for the local real estate sector. The region's burgeoning real estate market is going from strength to strength - the total value of real estate projects planned or under way in the GCC is around $1.4 trillion, with new projects and initiatives coming online all the time. The opportunities for a firm of Trowers' calibre are second to none.
"I am very much looking forward to helping drive forward Trowers' Middle East real estate offering and helping further embed the firm in this vibrant, agile marketplace."
Jeremy Ingham, International Managing Partner, added:
"Eileen is a brilliant lawyer with excellent credentials and she is a very welcome addition to our Middle East presence. We're seeing a wealth of developments across the real estate market, with major projects and associated assets within the hospitality, logistics and technology sectors presenting key areas of growth and diversification. Real estate runs though the core of Trowers' business and we look forward to pioneering better environments and businesses for our regional clients through our unique expertise."
