Rob Wilson

Rob is a Solicitor Advocate and a Partner at Trowers & Hamlins and is based in our London office.

He is a member of the Construction Disputes team and has extensive expereince of dealing with complex disputes.

Rob's focus is on dispute avoidance, failing which dispute resolution. He is dual qualified (England and Wales / Scotland) and he has a wealth of experience covering litigation across the UK, adjudication, expert determination, international arbitration (mainly ICC; LCIA; SIAC) and ADR (acting as both Counsel and as a CEDR Accredited Mediator).

For over 25 years Rob has worked closely with the energy and construction sectors. Experience has taught him that the careful management of issues during the life of a project can lead to dispute avoidance but that where avoidance can not be achieved, the active management of issues at an early stage can benefit a client if the matter later ends up in court or in arbitration.

In the construction sector he has worked with employers, funders, owners, contractors and construction professionals. Claims over the years have related to schools, roads, shopping centres, student accommodation blocks, factories, storage yards, to name but a few.

On the energy side of things, Rob has worked with the in the renewable energy sector including onshore and offshore wind, solar, hydro and in dealing with energy from waste plants. Rob also has considerable experience form working with the oil & gas sector (both offshore and onshore) in the North Sea, South America, the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia and the Far East across three decades.

Legal 500 has reported that Rob is a “main name to note” in the space of commercial and joint venture disputes with regards to the development of large-scale projects, and international arbitration.
